True vs conspiracy
Over the past few weeks, I've heard a lot about "conspiracy theories" and "conspirators" so I wonder if I can get a better idea of what these terms mean.
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary states that a conspiracy theory "usually interprets an event or set of circumstances as the result of a secret conspiracy by powerful conspirators." Sounds like me based on the staff mystery novel. The joy of reading comes as soon as the characters ’inspirations are revealed and the“ privacy ”revealed.
Conspiracies are bound up with the beliefs that individuals hold. I’m sure there was a time when scientists or inventors were considered “crazy” because they believed in something that hadn’t been done before. Think of the Wright brothers who told others that they were going to build a flying machine. They didn’t prove it until they did, and I’m sure many people criticized their beliefs. Perhaps they were called “conspirators”.
It is easy to think that the theoretical issue is ridiculous unless there is evidence or proof that something has happened.
There have been many conspiracy theories over the centuries. In the 1960s, the John Birch Society promoted the idea that a United Nations force in black helicopters would keep the United States under UN control.
Some conspiracies have been linked to the deaths of President John F. Kennedy, Princess Diana and even Elvis. Others are concerned with the cause of the collapse of the Twin Towers, the existence of aliens and the idea that we are all being "observed" through technology. However, none of this has been proven by evidence or truth. (I just keep thinking that anyone watching me must be upset!)
And now, there are many conspiracies surrounding the 2020 global lockdown due to the epidemic. Some do not believe that there was ever a virus. Others think it was deliberately leaked to the world to reduce the population. There are theories that billionaires and pharmacare companies may benefit from being able to make money and control the population with a vaccine.
I am a firm believer in the truth. Merriam-Webster defines truth as "the true subject, the event, and the body of truth." I am not opposed to any theory, but I always need to do my own research to determine if they are true.
Due to the Internet and twenty-four-hour television, many opinions are just that - opinions. Stories can be “cut” according to the narrator. When something doesn’t make sense, I don’t believe anyone regardless of source. Instead, I read and do my own research.
Here’s my advice for this week: Don’t be resistant when you hear something new. Listen and do your own research. Look for evidence or truths that you can verify and believe.
And if you have a theory that is new to others, don't try to force it on them. Just because you think something is true does not mean that others are willing or willing to accept it as their own. Give them seeds and time to do their own research.
Search for the truth and as the ancient scriptures say "Truth will set you free".
